William was born in Watford, Hertfordshire, England. He was christened there on 27 December 1592 in St. Mary Church.4 William married Philip (?) circa 1620 in England. In April 1635, William left from Lydd, County Kent, England aboard the ship, "Elizabeth", bound for New England. He was accompanied to America by his brothers: Gabriel & David. They arrived in 1635..5 They first settled in Wethersfield, Connecticut & later in Stamford where William received a home & five acres of land on the 7th of December 1641. William's wife, Philip, died on 19 September 1657 in Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut, leaving him a widower.6 William departed this life in 1663 in Fairfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut.
