     Joseph was born in Watford, Hertfordshire, England. He was christened there on 25 April 1624 in St. Mary Church.3 Joseph married Mary Brown of Stamford on 4 December 1654 in Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut.4 Joseph & Mary had children: Zachariah, Joseph [1657] [m. Sarah Reynolds] , Daniel, Elisha, Richard & Mary. In the spring of 1657, Joseph & his brother John and their families, moved to Hempstead. They later returned to Stamford Connecticut in the later part of 1658 or early part of 1659. Joseph departed this life on Wednesday, 3 May 1690 in Greenwich, Fairfield County, Connecticut.
