Lucy Ann was born on Saturday, 25 November 1769 in Goshen, Orange County, New York. Lucy Ann married Samuel Mapes, son of Samuel Mapes and Mary Smith, on 19 July 1787 in Goshen, Orange County, New York, at the First Presbyterian Church.1 Samuel & Lucy had children: Martin Luther [6/03/1788], Eber [9/28/1789], Abigail [8/27/1791-1/27/1869]. Lucy departed this life on Wednesday, 6 May 1846 in Howells Depot, the town of Wallkill at age 76 years, 5 months and 11 days. She was buried there in the Mapes Burying Ground. The inscription on her tombstone reads: In Memory of Lucy A. wife of Samuel Mapes - died May 6, 1846 - aged 76 yrs 5 mo. & 11 days.6
