     Jacob was born on Tuesday, 7 January 1806 in Pleasant Township, Fairfield County, Ohio. Jacob married Mary Beery, daughter of Jacob Beery and Nancy Geil, on 1 March 1827 in Fairfield County. In 1828, the family moved to McCutchinville, Tymochtee Township, Wyandot County, Ohio. Jacob was a farmer, shoemaker, and undertaker at times. He was was a member of the Evangelical Church. Jacob & Polly had children: Noah [4/08/1828], Henry [7/18/1829], Sarah Ann [5/30/1832-5/17/1854][m. John Wesley Walton], William [6/19/1834], Elisabeth [9/25/1836], John [--]. Daniel [3/22/1841], & Mary M. [--]. 2 August 1850, Jacob and his wife, Mary, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Tymochtee Township. Jacob is a farmer, John & Daniel are laborers.3 4 August 1870, Jacob and his wife, Mary, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Tymochtee Township. Enumerated in this household were Jacob Corfman [64 Ohio], his wife: Mary [67 Ohio], children: Samuel [24 Ohio], Lavina [19 Ohio], domestic servant, Catharine Beery [19 Ohio] and farm laborer, John Bently [50 Ohio]. Jacob is a farmer.4 7 June 1880, Jacob and his wife, Mary, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Tymochtee Township. Enumerated in this household were Jacob Corfman [75 Ohio] & his wife, Mary [77 Ohio]. Jacob is a farmer.5 Jacob departed this life on Sunday, 27 June 1886 in Sycamore, Tymochtee Township at age 80 years, 5 months and 20 days.

OBITUARY - Jacob Corfman was born in Pleasant township, Fairfield Co., Ohio, January 7, 1806, aged 80 years, 5 months and 20 days, disease, cancer in the stomach. His parents, Jacob and Magdalena Corfman, were natives of York County, PA. He was united in marriage to Mary Beery, of Fairfield county, Ohio, March 1, 1827. Mr. Corfman, with wife and first son, Noah, moved to this country and entered 80 acres of land in 1828, his patent deed being signed by President Andrew Jackson, for whom he cast his first vote. On this farm he resided until his death. He cleared his farm, made shoes and boots, worked at carpentering, and in fact did anything by which to earn an honest living. Here have been born to them nine children, Noah born April 6, 1828; Henry, July 18, 1829; Sarah A., July 30 1832; William, June 19, 1834; John, January 23, 1839; Daniel, March 23, 1841; Magdalene, December 25, 1843; Samuel, July 30, 1846. Two of these, Sarah and Henry, have departed life. Mr. Corfman lived an exemplary christian life, and was a member of the Evangelical Association for 50 years; was converted at an Indian camp meeting held on the Reservation in 1836. He was buried on Tuesday, and his funeral conducted by the Rev. D. Curlis, at the Ebenezer Church. His remains were laid away in the Bibler cemetery, in the presence of a large concourse of friends and neighbors. He leaves seven children, all of whom were in attendance at the funeral, except John, who resides at Coffeyville, Kansas. Forty-two grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one grandson in the ministry.

He was buried at McCutchinsville, Tomochtee Township in Bibler Cemetery.6
