     Gershom was born on Thursday, 7 November 1652 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. He married Deborah Wells circa 1686 at the Town of Southold. Gersham and Deborah had children: Gershom Jr., Deborah Jr., Abigail, Richard, Barsheba, Mehitable, Mary [born after 1707], David & possibly others. 1698, Gershom and Deborah and his wife, [ROF:Southold Town] werelisted on the Southold Town Census. Enumerated in this household were Gershom Terry, Deborah, Gershom Jr., Deborah Jr., Abigail, Richard, Barsheba, Mehitobel. Gershom made his will on 21 February 1725 at the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. He mentions his second son David, daughter Mary under 18 years, eldest son Gershom, Richard Terry executor. [New York Wills: Liber 10, page 162] Gershom departed this life on Wednesday, 14 March 1725 in Cutchogue in the Town of Southold at age 72 years, 4 months and 7 days. He was buried there in the old burying ground. His will was probated on 26 November 1726.
