     Bethia was born on Tuesday, 13 September 1672 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. Bethia married Thomas Goldsmith on 7 June 1695 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York.1 Bethia's husband, an unknown person , died before 3 June 1710 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York, leaving her a widow. Bethia married 2nd Captain Thomas Mapes II, son of Thomas Mapes and Sarah Purrier, on 3 June 1710 in the Town of Southold.2,3 Bethia's husband, Thomas, died on 16 February 1711/12 in the Town of Southold leaving her a widow.4 Bethia married 3rd Richard Steer in March 1715 in the Town of Southold.5 Bethia's husband, Richard, died on 22 June 1721 in the Town of Southold leaving her a widow. Bethia departed this life on Sunday, 11 October 1739 in the Town of Southold at age 67 years and 28 days. She was buried there in the First Presbyterian Church burying ground in the village of Southold.6
