     Nathaniel was born in Heptonstall, Yorkshire, England. He was christened there on 12 May 1639 in St. Thomas Becket Church.2 He first appears on records in 1661 on a tax list in Dedham, Massachusetts. By 1663, he was living in Medfield, Massachusetts and his residence was near that of John Plympton. Nathaniel married Hannah Plimpton, daughter of Sargeant John Plimpton and Jane Damon, on 31 January 1665 in Medfield Township, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.3,4,5 His family, along with the Plymptons moved to Deefield in the spring of 1673. Nathaniel was killed by the Indians at "the Falls Fight" under Captain Turner and was burned in the woods. He was buried at the Falls Fight Gravesite with no marker. on Tuesday, 19 May 1676.6
