Mary was born in 1676 in Charlestown, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. Mary married Lieut. John Torrey, son of William Torrey II and Deborah Greene, on 26 December 1700. Mary's husband, John, died on 7 January 1729/30 in Weymouth leaving her a widow. Mary departed this life on Tuesday, 14 February 1758 in Weymouth at age 82 years. The Suffolk County Records show that on 10 March 1758, William Torrey, her eldest son, was appointed administrator of her estate. Her estate was distributed on 29 Aug 1760, and mentions her children: eldest son William, John, Samuel, deceased, Josiah, Mary Reed and Ann Humphrey, deceased.¹
