Anne Michel

F, b. circa 1645, d. 29 November 1724
     Anne was born circa 1645 in France.1 In the spring of 1668, Anne left her home in France aboard the ship, "New France", under the command of Alain Durand, departing from Dieppe & La Rochelle. They arrived at Quebec on the 3rd day of the 7th month 1668. She was one of 81 young ladies who were "Filles du Roi"..2 Anne married Jacques Paviot circa 1668.3 Anne's husband, Jacques, died circa 1674 in Contrecoeur, Vercheres County, Quebec, Canada, leaving her a widow.4 Anne married 2nd Jean Maseau dit St-Martin circa 1674 in Quebec, Canada.5 She made her confirmation in 1676 at St-Trinitie, Contrecoeur. 1681, Anne and her husband, Jean, were listed on the Canadian Census in Contrecoeur, Vercheres County, Quebec, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Jean Masault [33 years], his wife: Anne Michel [33 years], Marie Paviot [12 years], Claude Paviot [10 years], Madeleine Paviot [8 years], Anne Paviot [7 years], Philibert [4 years], Jean [3 years], Barbe [1 year]. He had a rifle, a pistol, 7 beasts of horns, 8 acres of land in value.6 Anne's husband, Jean, died before 29 November 1724 in Contrecoeur leaving her a widow. Anne departed this life on Wednesday, 29 November 1724 in Contrecoeur.7 She was buried there in the churchyard of Tres Ste-Trinitie on Friday, 1 December 1724.8
