M, d. 963
Oswulf was born in Bernicia at the castle of Bamburgh. His ancestry was Danish. He was King of Bernicia from 930-954. With death of Eric Bloodaxe, he became known as Earl of all Northumbria in 954. This title he held until his death. Depending on the source, he is sometimes refered to as Earl of Northumberland. Oswulf departed this life in 963 in Northumbria, England. Probably at the Castle of Bamburg. His title to the Earldom of Northumbria passed to his son, Waltheof.
