Katherine Manning

F, b. before 3 April 1548, d. before 4 June 1627
     Katherine was born before 3 April 1548 at Down, County Kent, England. She was the daughter of George Manning who was part of the Manning family that was a part of the Royal Household of Greenwich.1 On 3 April 1548, she was christened in Down, County Kent, England. Katherine married Hugh Underhill circa 1572 in England. Katherine's husband, Hugh, died before 23 July 1593 in the Royal Palace at Greenwich, County Kent, England, leaving her a widow.2 Katherine married 2nd Richard Goodman in England. On 20 July 1602, Katherine and her son, George, were granted a patent making them "Keepers of the Garden" for the term of either of their lives.3 Katherine departed this life before 4 June 1627 in Greenwich, County Kent, England. She was buried at Greenwich, County Kent, England, in St. Alphege Church.4

Morrison, Underhills of Warwickshire, Page 64-65 - “Katherine the daughter of Mr George Maning” was baptized at Downe, avillage 11 miles south-east of Greenwhich, on April 3, 1548. “My daughter Katherine Underhill” is mentioned in the will of her father, dated April 30, 1583, who also appoints Hugh Underhill one of his overseers.
