     Gabriel was born circa 1698 in West Farms, Westchester County, New York. In the will dated 9 Septmber 1707, of his brother, Thomas, Gabriel is left the proceeds of the sale of the lands given to Thomas by his father to be executed by his mother, Elizabeth. If the lands are not sold they are to go to him when he reaches majority. Gabriel married Bridget Williams in 1720 in West Farms. Gabriel was born and spent most of his life at West Farms. He was a land owner and alderman of Westchester. In his later years, he lived at West Patent of North Castle, Westchester County. He returned to West Farms late in life as he died and was buried there. Gabriel's wife, Bridget, died after 1733 in West Farms leaving him a widower. Gabriel married 2nd Catherine Everett in 1734 in West Farms. Gabriel's wife, Catherine, died after 1737 in West Farms leaving him a widower. Gabriel married 3rd Sarah (?) after 1737 in West Farms.2 Gabriel's wife, Sarah, died on 30 August 1744 in West Farms leaving him a widower. Gabriel married 4th Mary Wiggins on 9 July 1765 in West Farms. Gabriel's wife, Mary, died before 25 June 1781 in West Farms, Westchester County, New York, leaving him a widower. Gabriel made his will on 25 June 1781 at North Castle, Westchester County, New York.

Gabriel Leggett, late of West Chester but now of the West Patent of North Castle, Westchester County, New York. To my two sons, Thomas and James, all my estate both real and personal, lying in Westchester County, New York, to them and their heirs forever, and that it be equally divided between them; if either of my two sons, Thomas or James, die before me or before said estate be equally divided in such case the heirs of deceased brother shall be entitled to one equal half part of the above given estate; to my daughter, Mary Archer, 100 pounds; if my daughter die before she receive the aforesaid 100 pounds, then the aforesaid 100 pounds to be paid to her heirs; to my daughter, Martha Forguson, 30 pounds with this proviso, that she shall survive her husband, Hezekiah Forguson, otherwise not; to my daughter, Phebe Miers, 30 pounds with the proviso, that she survive her husband, Isaac Miers, otherwise not; to my daughter Elizabeth 30 pounds, to be paid to her one year after my death; to my daughter Catherine 10 pounds; my sons, Thomas and James, to pay the legacies severally as I have given them. Gabriel departed this life before 2 May 1786 in West Patent of North Castle, Westchester County, New York. His will was probated on 2 May 1786.
