Francois was born in 1659 in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada. Francois married Madeleine-Marguerite Jobin, daughter of Charles Jobin and Marie Madeleine Girard, on 3 November 1683 in Champlain, Les Chenaux County, Quebec, Canada, at the church of La Visitation.¹ Francois's wife, Madeleine-Marguerite, died circa 29 January 1711 in Detroit, Pays-d'-en-Haut, leaving him a widower. Francois departed this life in Detroit. He was buried there in the cemetery of Ste-Anne on Friday, 8 January 1734.²
