Ladwick departed this life on Monday, 1 December 1823 in Berlin, Hartford County, Connecticut, at age 71 years, 6 months and 6 days. He was buried there in New Britian in Fairview Cemetery. The insription on his tombstone reads: Ladwick Hotchkiss Died Dec. 1, 1823 - AE 81.2
