     James was born circa 1714 in Prince George's County, Maryland.1 The name of his first wife, by whom he had several children, is unknown. James married 2nd Elizabeth Fryer on 15 February 1768 in Frederick County.2 James and Elizabeth had one son, Daniel [7/01/1768][m. 2/19/1787 Sarah Burgess].1
