     John was born circa 1643 in Dorchester, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. John married Elizabeth Hemenway on 24 September 1663 in Dorchester, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.2 Some time after 1664, the family removed from Dorchester & settled at Roxbury. It appears that they moved back & forth several times or that they maintained homes in both places. He was a tanner. John made his will on 16 December 1675 at Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. He names his wife, Elizabeth, and his four children. John died on Sunday, 25 December 1678 in Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, of smallpox.3
