Robert De de Deighton
M, b. before 1284
Robert De was born before 1284 in the hamlet of Deighton in the parish of Deighton, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Robert was admitted a freeman in 1305 and was a yeoman. Being a yeoman implied a gentleman of a small estate who besides a freeholder, was an officer in the militia of his section of the country. Hence, the expression "an officer of the guard."1
