     Rebecca was born in Saffron Walden, County Essex, England. On 13 January 1629/30, she was christened in Saffron Walden, County Essex, England, at St. Mary the Virgin Churchyard.2 Rebecca married George Woolsey on 9 December 1647.3 She was a witness at the trial of her brother Thomas when he was unjustly accused of killing their mother. She was marked by small-pox. She gave brother Richard power of attorney to collect legacies under her mother's will. Rebecca departed this life before 9 February 1713.
She was buried on 9 February 1713.4

    Captain George, bap. Oct. io, 1652, in New Amsterdam; d. Jan. 19, 1740; in. Hannah When twelve years old he moved with his father to Jamaica, L. I., and there spent his early life under the Duke of York and the long line of English Governors. He won the title of captain in the Queens. -County Militia, and kept it through life. His name often occurs in the town records in ways that show he was of ability and consequence. He spent the closing years of his life with his son Rev. Benjamin Woolsey, a congregational minister, who lived at Dosoris, and there he was buried in the family cemetery on the place, being the first one of the many Woolseys there laid at rest. He was the great-great-great-grandfather of President Woolsey of Yale College.
