- [S119] Herbert Furman Seversmith, Colonial Families of Long Island, New York & Connecticut, page 233 - John, who has been identified as the one who signed letters of administration on the intestacy of his mother Hannah, 14 October 1637 at Chesham. He was then a mercer.
- [S663] Joseph L Chester, Report of Investigations Concerning the Family of Baldwins, of Aston Clinton, Co Bucks, page - 168 He left no will, but on the 14th of October 1637, his widow Hannah was granted Letters from the Archdeaconry Court of Bucks, to administer his estate, when he was described as late of Chesham, co Bucks. The Admistration Bond was signed by her and by John Baldwin of Chesem, mercer. [Note: There is a discrepency in what Mr. Chester states here verses what Mr. Seversmith states. Since Mr. Seversmith has abstracts of two wills one of John and one of his son Richard which mentions the daugthers and siblings respectively, both having the same names as those given in Alice King Baldwin's will, it seems that Mr Chester was given wrong information or that the documents were misread. Therefore, as seen in the body of the text, Hannah died in 1637, her son John signing the legal papers, and her husband John dying in 1652. Their son Richard died earlier in 1634. - KLM]
