Joseph Cheeseman

Joseph was born on Tuesday, 5 November 1715 at the Town of Oyster Bay, Queens County, Long Island, New York. He was the son of Ephraim and Esther Cheesman.1 Joseph married Sarah Badgley, daughter of Anthony Badgley II and Phoebe Haight, on 20 February 1737 in the Town of Flushing, Queens County, Long Island, New York. Joseph & Sarah had children: Mary [1740], Phebe [1742], Sarah [ca 1743], Joseph [1744], Anthony [1755-5/30/1805], Richard [1756-1/18/1832], Elizabeth [1756-9/02/1798] [m pos Jos Thorne 12/26/1744] & Samuel [1760].
On 5 March 1762, Joseph was christened, as an adult, at St. George's Anglician Church in the Town of Hempstead, Queens County, Long Island, New York. His wife & some of their childrn were also christened at this time.2 Joseph departed this life in April 1772 in Hempstead Town at age 56 years and 4 months. He was buried at Hempstead Town, Queens County, Long Island, New York, in St. George's Church Cemetery.
