Sarah J. was born on Friday, 2 June 1843 in Unadilla Township, Livingston County, Michigan. She was the daughter of Robert & Annis Bullis.1 Sarah J. married Robert J. Townsend, son of Samuel Townsend and Asenath Badgley, circa 1862 in Michigan. 28 June 1870, Sarah and her husband, Robert, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Stockbridge Township, Ingham County, Michigan. Enumerated in this household were R. J. Townsend [31 Michigan], his wife: Sarah J. [27 Michigan], children: Corye [7 Michigan], Nettie J. [6 Michigan], Alphius [5 Michigan], Phebe [4 Michigan], Frances [3 Michigan] & Jethro [1 Michigan].2 She married 2nd 10 November 1880 Truman Case & 3rd 6 July 1892 Abel Harp.3 Sarah departed this life on Wednesday, 8 July 1896 in Unadilla Township, Livingston County, Michigan.4 She was buried at Unadilla Township, Livingston County, Michigan, in the Plainfield Village Cemetery.5
