He had retired from secular life & became a monk in St. Andrew's, Northamptonshire.2 Hadenald departed this life after 1143 in Northamptonshire, England, at the Abbey of St. Andrew's.

All his sons consented as witnesses, viz. John, Simon, Halenad, Trian, Walter the clerk & Aluric the priest, and they had been received into the abbey's confraternity. John de Bydon with the consent of John, his son & heir, later confirmed the alms granted by his father when he became a monk; and gave another perhaps earlier, confirmation with the consent of his son, Halenald.
