     Andrew was born in Milford, New Haven County, Connecticut. He was the son of Andrew Benton & Hannah Stocking. He was christened there on 12 August 1653. Andrew married Martha Spencer, daughter of Sergeant Thomas Spencer and Sarah Bearding, circa 1677 in Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut.1 Andrew & Martha had children: Hannah [1/06/1677][m. 2/20/1700 Edward Scofell & 2nd in 1706 Benjamin Smith], Martha 8/01/1679], Andrew [7/31/1681-7/31/1704], Mercy [9/07/1683], John [2/22/1685], Dorothy [4/22/1688][m. 5/03/1716 John Gridley], Mary [11/02/1690], Ebenezer 10/18/1696-12/__/1770][m. Elizabeth White] & Elizbeth [2/12/1698]. Andrew departed this life on Tuesday, 5 February 1704 in Hartford.
