Pierre Berard dit Lepine

     Pierre was born on Wednesday, 13 August 1727 in Sorel, St-Pierre-De Saurel, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Gabriel Berard dit Lapine & Marie-Angelique Desorcy. He was christened there on 15 August 1727 in St-Pierre Church.1 Pierre married Genevieve Sylvestre, daughter of Nicolas Sylvestre and Marie Elisabeth Isabelle Laporte dit St-Georges, on 12 February 1753 in Ile-DuPas, Quebec, Canada, at the church of La Visitation.2 Pierre & Genevieve had children: Pierre Gabriel [12/02/1753-2/22/1754], Marie Genevieve [8/14/1755-1/03/1756], Marie Therese [4/07/1758][m. 10/12/1778 Louis-Maurice Robillard], Marie Genevieve [8/05/1760][m. 11/22/1779 Ignace Piche], Marie [3/21/1762][m. 2/19/1781 Pierre Fauteux], Pierre Gabriel [6/20/1765-4/04/1766] & Michel 7/03/1770-11/25/1772]. He married second Marie Groundin [widow of Mr. Bastien]. Pierre's wife, Genevieve, died on 29 December 1798 in St-Cuthbert, Berthier County, Quebec, Canada, leaving him a widower. Pierre departed this life on Sunday, 9 November 1806 in St-Cuthbert at age 79 years, 2 months and 27 days. He was buried there in the churchyard of St-Cuthbert on Tuesday, 11 November 1806.3
