Pierre Barbary dit Grande Maison

     Pierre was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Pierre Barbary & Marie Le Brun. On 25 May 1672, he was christened in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, at the Basilica of Notre Dame.¹ Pierre married Marie Francoise Pare, daughter of Jean Pare and Marie-Marguerite Picard, on 18 October 1701 in Lachine, Montreal at Sts-Anges Gardiens Church.² Pierre & Marie-Francoise had children: Marie-Francoise [8/02/1702][m. 4/09/1720 Joseph Brunet], Marie-Anne [1/15/1704][m. 2/03/1729 Michel Lauzon], Suzanne [1/11/1706][m. 11/12/1725 Philippe Brunet], Pierre [9/19/1707], Michel [9/29/1709][m. 1/03/1738 Marie-Francoise Trepagny], Judith-Claire [6/29/1711][m. 7/20/1744 Francois Martel], Charlotte [1713-1/10/1745][m. 5/03/1734 Baptiste Gautier], Marie-Josephe [5/13/1717][m. 8/29/1740 Joseph Berthiaume], Jean-Marie [2/04/1720][m. 2/11/1743 Marie-Therese Parent], Joseph-Marie [4/12/1724-5/14/1755], Marguerite [9/11/1726-9/17/1726] & Jean-Baptiste [4/09/1728-9/01/1728].³ Pierre departed this life on Saturday, 4 September 1745 in Pointe-Claire, Montreal. He was buried there in the churchyard of St-Joachim on Sunday, 5 September 1745.⁴
