Jacob Weston1

     Jacob was born on Saturday, 19 November 1796 in Middleborough, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Seth & Hope Weston.2 Jacob married Marilda Townsend, daughter of Christopher Townsend and Bathia Rider, on 18 November 1827 in Kingston, Ulster County, New York.3 Jacob & Marida had children: Matilda [2/19/1829-11/23/1891], Seth Thomas [12/22/1830-1/08/1852], Sally Ann [11/30/1832-7/16/1836], William H. [3/22/1836-9/04/1914], Melvina [9/05/1838-8/25/1866] & Albert G. [8/15/1846-1/18/1893].4 The 1830 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Conquest, Cayuga County, New York, the family of Jacob Weston [000001:10001].5 The 1840 U.S. Federal Census enumerates at Washtenaw County, Michigan, the family of Jacob Weston [1100001:101001].6 4 September 1850, Jacob was listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Webster Township. Enumerated in this household were Jacob Weston [54 New Jersey], his wife: Merilda [44 New York], children: Matilda [21 New York], Seth [20 New York], William [14 New York], Melvina [12 Michigan], & Albert [4 Michigan].7 Jacob departed this life on Tuesday, 31 July 1855 in Dexter Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan, at age 58 years, 8 months and 12 days.8 He was buried there in the Forestlawn Cemetery. His stone reads: "Jacob Weston died July 31, 1855 aged 58 years, 8 months, 12 days. Marilda, wife of Jacob Weston, died February 1, 1882 aged 76 years, 22 days."
