Mary Reeves

     Mary was born on Tuesday, 2 April 1799 in New York. She was the daughter of David Reeves and Hester Wickham. Mary married John Vail Mapes, son of Enos Mapes and Irena Vail, on 14 October 1820. John & Mary had children: Clarissa [8/11/1821-3/27/1903][unmarried], Jeanette [3/09/1823], Nelson Bradner [5/19/1829]. Mary departed this life on Monday, 26 April 1830 in Middletown, Orange County, New York, at age 31 years and 24 days. She was buried there in the cemetery of the First Congregational Church. She was later removed to Hillside Cemetery.
