Abigail Paddock

     Abigail was born. She was the daughter of Robert Paddock, a blacksmith. Abigail married Darius Townsend, son of Christopher Townsend and Lydia (?), circa 1794 in Dutchess County, New York. Abigail's husband, Darius, died on 13 January 1834 in Conquest leaving her a widow. Abigail departed this life on Wednesday, 10 April 1850 in Conquest. She was buried there in Conquest Village Cemetery. The inscription on her tombstone reads: ABIGAIL - - wife of Darius Townsend - Died April 10 185.0 - -Aged 76 yrs.¹
