[1865-1932], Phebe [1866], Frances [8/19/1867-11/10/1887][m. C. M. Fineout], Jethro [1869] & Robert W. [12/26/1873-8/27/1881].2 28 June 1870, Robert and his wife, Sarah, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Stockbridge Township, Ingham County, Michigan. Enumerated in this household were R. J. Townsend [31 Michigan], his wife: Sarah J. [27 Michigan], children: Corye [7 Michigan], Nettie J. [6 Michigan], Alphius [5 Michigan], Phebe [4 Michigan], Frances [3 Michigan] & Jethro [1 Michigan].3 Robert departed this life on Friday, 12 September 1873 in Stockbridge Township at age 35 years, 4 months and 10 days. He was buried at Unadilla Township, Livingston County, Michigan, in the Plainfield Village Cemetery.4,5
