- [S76] Frank Mapes Ham, Mapes Family of America, page 169 - SILAS HAYNES MAPES was born Mar. 29, 1772 and died Feb. 27, 1857 and is buried in Thompsonville, N. Y. On Aug. 28, 1792 he was married_to Mary Thomas who was born Aug. 8, 1774 and died July 11, 1797. Three children were born to them. On Mar 13, 1798 he married (2) Sarah Hunt who was born Dec. 21, 1766 and died Sept. 16, 1848. He moved to western New York State but later returned to Monticello, Sullivan County, N. Y. where he died. His children were: Julia Ann Mapes b. Sept. 14, 1793, Seth Mapes b. July 14, 1795 d. Apr. 2, 1813, David V. Mapes b. May 9, 1797, Lisander M. Mapes b. Sept. 14, 1811. Sarah Maria Mapes b. Nov. 12, 1813. Note: The Demarest Bible has the name of the first child Juliana.
