Jennie L Mapes, daughter of John and Phila Mapes was born in Iosco, Livingston Co., Michigan, October 15, 1863, and departed this life, November 15 1921, aged 58 years 1 month and 1 day. At an early age she moved with her parents to Stockbridge township. She was united in marriage to Frederick W. Sharp September 30, 1885. Three children came to bless their home, a son and two daughters, F. Ray, of Sylvania, Ohio, Lillie J. Townsend of Jackson and Edith L. Ostrander, who passed to the "Life Beyond" three years ago.
In her youth she gave her heart to the Savior, and in the year 1886 was baptized and united with the M. E. church of Stockbridge. She has lived a consistent Christian life, exerting an influence for good to all those who have come in contact with her. Surely she will be missed, but our loss is her gain. She sleeps in the Sweet Bye and Bye.
