Joseph Loomis

Joseph was born circa 1590 in County Essex, England. He was the son of John & Agnes Loomis.1 Joseph married Mary White, daughter of Robert White and Bridgit Algar, on 30 June 1614 in Shalford, County Essex, England, at St. Andrew's Church.2 On 11 April 1638, Joseph & his wife, Mary, left from London aboard the ship, "Susan and Ellen", bound for New England. The couple soon removed to Windsor as they were there in 1639. In Windsor, the Loomis family was living adjacent to John Porter's family. The two wives, sisters, were to live here for the remainder of there lives. Joseph departed this life on Monday, 25 November 1658 in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut.3 The inventory of Joseph's estate was taken on Monday, 2 December 1658 at Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut. The value of the inventory was £178-10-00.3
