     Sarah Elizabeth was born on Thursday, 30 May 1844 in Richford Township, Tioga County, New York. Sarah Elizabeth married Parshall Howell Jr., son of John Howell and Mariett Decker, on 5 January 1862 in Stockbridge, Ingham County, Michigan. 30 June 1870, Sarah and her husband, Parshall, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in White Oaks Township, Ingham County, Michigan. Enumerated in this household were Parshall Howell [34 New Jersey farmer], his wife: Sarah [26 Michigan], & their son, Floyd [7 Michigan].1 3 June 1880, Sarah and her husband, Parshall, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in White Oaks Township. Enumerated in this household were Parshel Howell [44 New Jersey MJ & NY] & his wife: Sarah E. [36 New York NY & NY], Floyd P. [17 Michigan] & Alva A. [2 Michigan]. Parshall is a farmer.2 4 June 1900, Sarah and her husband, Parshall, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in White Oaks Township. Enumerated in this household were Parshall Howell [64 New Jersey, New Jersey & New Jersey - January 1836] & his wife: Sarah E. [56 New York, New York & New York - May 1844]. They were married 38 years with two children, two living. They owned their farm.3 28 April 1910, Sarah and her husband, Parshall, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Stockbridge Township. Enumerated in this household were Parshall Howell [74 New Jersey] & his wife: Sarah [65 New York]. They had been married 48 years with two children, both living.4 Sarah's husband, Parshall, died on 12 November 1912 in home of his son, Floyd, Oceola Township, Livingston County, Michigan, leaving her a widow.5 18 January 1920, the U.S. Federal Census listed Sarah living in the home of her son at White Oaks Township. Enumerated in this household were Alva J. Howell [40 Michigan], Ettie [28 Michigan], Roy C. [15 Michigan], & his mother: Sarah E. [76 New York].6 Sarah departed this life on Saturday, 7 January 1922 in White Oaks Township at age 77 years, 7 months and 8 days.7 She was buried at Stockbridge in the Oaklawn Cemetery.8
