William Mortimer Allen

     William Mortimer was born on Friday, 25 November 1814 in the City, County & State of New York. He was the son of the Honorable Stephen Allen, Mayor of New York, and business partner of Augustus Wright. William married Catherine Maria Leggett, daughter of William Haight Leggett and Margaret Peck Wright, on 2 October 1838 in Westchester County, New York, at the Leggett home at Rose Bank, Morrissania.
