Rev. James Lent

     Rev. James was born on Sunday, 3 February 1793 in Tusket, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, Canada. He was the son of Jacobus Lent and Brechje Smith. Rev. married Lydia Jeffery, daughter of John Matthew Jeffery and Lydia Ann Randall, in Nova Scotia, Canada. James and Lydia had children: James Matthew [1823-8/22/1883] [m. Theodosia Cochran], & Abram Smith [1827] [m. Eliza Gavel d/o Deacon John].1 He married second, Elizabeth Harding. They had children: Lydia [m. Thomas Kirby MD], Bridget [m. Stephen N. Allen], Alice [m. Alfred Crosby s/o Capt. William], William [m. Charlotte Vaughan & Matilda Brown], Harris H. [m. Alice Cook] & Julia [m. Archibald Ray]. Rev. departed this life on Wednesday, 13 November 1850 in Tusket at age 57 years, 9 months and 10 days. He was buried at Tusket, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, Canada, in Tusket Cemetery. The inscription on his tomestone read: Rev. James Lent - Born Feb. 3 1793 - Died Nov. 13, 1850.2
