James Landon

     James was born in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. He was the son of Nathaniel Landon & Hannah Bishop of Southold. James married Mary Vail, daughter of John Vail and Grace Braddick, in May 1707 in the Town of Southold. James married second Mary Wilmot. He had six sons and two daughters at the time of his death. James and Mary had children: James [4/05/1711-11/__1786] [m. 1732 Sarah Bishop], Daniel [1/__1713-7/11/1790] [m. Martha Youngs], David [7/08/1718-5/04/1804] & Lydia [1722-7/01/1812] [m. Jonathan Buell]. James's wife, Mary, died on 28 August 1722 in the Town of Southold leaving him a widower. James departed this life on Friday, 19 September 1738 in the Town of Southold.
