Genevieve Lafond

     Genevieve was born in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada. She was the daughter of Etienne Lafond & Marie Boucher. She was christened there on 29 February 1652 in the Cathedral de l'Assomption.¹ 1667, the Canadian Census listed Genevieve was living in the home of her mother. Enumerated in this household were Marie Boucher [38 years], Jean Delafond [21 years], Genevieve Delafond [15 years], Pierre Delafond [12 years], Francoise Delafond [9 years], Ettienne Delafond [6 years], Augustin Delafond [3 years] & Domestics: Pierre Delafond [26 years], Deschamps [40 years], Charles [22 years] & Deshayes [19 years].² A contract for the marriage of Genevieve & Jean-Baptiste Trottier was signed on 24 June 1667 in Quebec, Canada. This was drawn up by their notary, Severin Ameau. It noted that he was a resident of Cap-de-la-Madeleine and his parents as the late Julien Trottier & the late Catherine Loiseau. It also notes Genevieve as the daughter of the late Etienne de la Fond; at Quebec..³ 1681, Genevieve and her husband, Jean-Baptiste, were listed on the Canadian Census in Batiscan, Les Chenaux County, Quebec, Canada. Enumerated in this household were Jean Trottier [38 years], Genevieve de la Fon [30 years], Marie [13 years], Madeleine [11 years], Catherine [7 years], Jean [5 years], Marguerite [3 years] & Francoise [1 year].⁴
