Christian Kratz1

M, b. February 1757, d. May 1839
     Christian was born in February 1757 in Pennsylvania. He was the son of John Kratz & Anna Meyer. Christian married Catharine Geil, daughter of Jacob Geil and Anna Clymer, in Doylestown Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Christian's wife, Catharine, died on 18 December 1830 in Doylestown Township leaving him a widower. Christian departed this life in May 1839 in Doylestown Township at age 82 years and 3 months. He was buried there in Doylestown Mennonite Cemetery. The inscription on his tombstone states that he was aged 82 years 3 months and 12 days.2

He was married to Anna Moyer, daughter of Samuel Moyer. He was a farmer, and lived in Hilltown Twp., Bucks Co., opposite the Creamery, on the farm occupied by the late Isaac Moyer, and adjoining lands of Rev. Abraham F. Moyer. He and wife were members of the Mennonite church at Blooming Glen, and are buried there. Children: Christian, Anna, Valentine, Jacob, Barbara, Magdalena.
