Isaac Johnson

     Isaac was born in Ware, Hertfordshire, England. He was christened there on 11 February 1616 in St. John the Baptist Church.¹ Isaac married Elizabeth Porter on 20 January 1637 in Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. He was made a freeman at Roxbury in 1635. Isaac & Elizabeth Porterhad children: Elizabeth [12/24/1637-4/20/1701][m. 12/20/1658 Henry Bowen], John [11/03/1639-12/16/1661], Mary 4/10/1642-1697][m.12/16/1663 William Bartholomew], Isaac [11/07/1643-2/03/1720][m. 10/26/1669 Mary Harris], Joseph [11/09/1645-12/12/1645] & Nathaniel [5/01/1647-2/14/1698]m. 4/29/1667 Mary Smith.² Isaac made his will on 8 March 1673 at Roxbury. Isaac departed this life on Thursday, 19 December 1675 in Roxbury. He was killed in the "Great Swamp Fight" as he attempted to enter the Indian fort by crossing on a tree trunk bridge. His will was probated on 10 February 1676.
