Edward was born in Yorkshire, England. Edward married Elizabeth Bridges circa 1643 in England. He and Elizabeth were blessed with 3 known children. Edward immigrated from Yorkshire, England to Connecticut. He first appears in America as a land owner on Sascoe Neck in the town of Fairfield, Connecticut in 1653. He emigrated from there to Westchester. He was one of the original patentees of West Farms. Edward made his will at West Farms, Westchester County, New York. He mentions his wife and three children - Elizabeth, the wife of Thomas Hunt Jr. with a daughter Mary; a daughter Hannah who is not of eighteen years; and a son Edward living at home. He speaks of Hannah and Edward to his wife - "bring up my two children in the fears of God" - making it appear that both are not of age. If this is so then it can be assumes that Elizabeth was about 19 or 20 years of age or possibly younger as of 1666. And since Edward only mentions one grandchild that Elizabeth had no others at the time - making Mary an infant to close to two years. So many of the families had children every two years. It would also make Edward around the age of 45 years. He and Elizabeth were probably married about 1645 in England. All of this being assumptions. Edward departed this life in 1666 in West Farms, Westchester County, New York.2
