Francoise was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She was christened there on 21 January 1658 in the Basilica of Notre Dame.¹ Francoise married Antoine Basinet dit Tourblanc on 6 August 1674 in Montreal at the Basilica of Notre Dame.² 1681, Francoise and her husband, Antoine, were listed on the Canadian Census in Notre Dame de Montreal. Enumerated in this household were Antoine Lefinet [32 years], Francoise Janot [23 years], Marie [6 years], Pierre [4 years] & Joseph [2 years]. [Note - This census was mistranscribed - Lefinet should have been Basinet - KLM]³ Francoise's husband, Antoine, died circa 24 June 1729 in Pointe-aux-Trembles, Montreal, leaving her a widow. Francoise departed this life on Sunday, 14 June 1739 in Pointe-aux-Trembles, Montreal. She was buried there in the churchyard of St-Enfant-Jesus on Tuesday, 16 June 1739.⁴
