Susan Hulse

     Susan was born on Thursday, 7 June 1787 in New York. She was the daughter of Thomas & Rachel [Tuthill] Hulse. Susan married James Mapes, son of Enos Mapes and Irena Vail, circa 1810 in New York. 10 September 1850, Susan and her husband, James, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census in Hamptonburg Township, Orange County, New York. Enumerated in this household were James Mapes [62 New York], his wife: Susan [63 New York], William L. Webb [40 New York-wagon maker], Hugn Corrigan [45 New York-laborer], Catherine Naiture [16 New York], Helen A. Smith [11 New York], & Mary E. Smith [6 New York]. James is a farmer.¹ Susan died in Hamptonburg Township, Orange County, New York, between between 10 September 1850 and 11 June 1860.
