     Richard was born in 1684 in the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. Richard married Deborah Reeves in 1715 in the Town of Southold. Richard and Deborah had children: Deborah, Sarah, Richard [ca. 1719], Dorothy, Hannah, Abigail, & child [d. 2/27/1725].4 Richard's wife, Deborah, died on 21 February 1724/25 in the Town of Southold leaving him a widower.5 Richard married 2nd Prudence Hallock on 6 July 1725 in the Town of Southold. Richard made his will on 10 January 1758 at the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. He mentions his wife Prudence & his children: Richard's only son, Dorothy Conkling, Deborah Doughty, Sarah Penny deceased, Hannah Ketchum, Abigail Horton. Witnesses: Deborah & James Fanning, Zophor Howell. [New York Wills: Liber 27, page 61] Richard departed this life on Wednesday, 15 March 1769 in Riverhead at age 85 years.6 His will was probated on 7 April 1769. There is also a recrod that gives the date as 14 Jun 1769.
