     Johan David was born on Monday, 5 December 1718 in Heimburd, Nassau, Holoischen, Germany. Johan married Maria Margareth in 1742 in Germany. The Heim family is of Dutch Ancestry. David immigrated from Heimburg, Nassau, Holoischen, Germany to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. An Andreas Heim, a possible brother, is found in the church of St. Michael's & Zion Church in the 1750's as was David. On 10 March 1755, David Heim & Maria Margaretha were sponsors for Maria Maragretha Lutz, daughter of Jurg Michael Lutz & Anna Wallpurgia [four miles out of town] in St. Michael's & Zion Lutheran Congregation in Philadelphia. On 24th of September 1764, David Heim of Northern Liberties, Philadelphia County was naturalized in Philadelphia.3 David made his will on 26 January 1786 at Frederick County, Maryland.

Whereas it is appointed unto all Men once to Die and Time uncertain when in consideration of which Truths I, David Hime, of Frederick County and state of Maryland being now of Sound and Disposing Memory, do make this my Last Will and Testament in Manner and form following, Viz:
Imprimis. My will is that all my just Debts be first paid faithfully and my body buried in a descent and Christian like manner by my Executors hereafter named.
Item. I leave the entirety of all my Estate bouth Real and Personall to my Beloved Wife Margret Hime during her Natural Life to be Possessed and Enjoyed by her without Molestation or Hinderance of any Person whatever proved as long as she lives a widow, but if she marys again or Dies, then my Will is that all my Estate be Equally Divided between all my children to wit. --Andrew Hime, Lorance Hime, Barbary Stockman, and Pegey Whaskey, to them their Heirs and Assigns for Ever and Lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my two Son-in-Laws George Stockman and George Whaskey Joint Executors of this my Last Will and Testament and I do hereby Renounce and make Void all other Wills by me heretofore made - In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my Hand and Affixed my Seal this twenty-sixth Day of January in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty-six.

There came George Stockman and George Whiskey and made Oath that the aforegoing Instrument of Writing is the True and Whole Will and Testament of David Hime late of Frederick County Deceased that hath come to their Hands and Possession and that they doth not know of any other. - George Murdock Regr.
Then came Michael Romar, George Brickhartt and John Bockins the three subscribing witnesses to the aforesgoing last Will and Testament of David Heim late of Frederick County Deceased and severally made Oath that they did see the Testator therein named Sign and Seal this Will they heard him publish, pronounce and Declare the same to be his last Will and Testament, that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their Apprehensions of Sound and Disposing Mind, Memory and Understanding that they Respectively Subscribed their Names as Witnesses to this will in the presence and at the Request of the Testator and in the presence of Each Other. - George Murdock Regr.4

David departed this life on Sunday, 29 January 1786 in Frederick County at age 67 years, 1 month and 24 days. He was buried there in the Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery on Tuesday, 31 January 1786.5
