     John was born in New Haven County, Connecticut. John married Martha Baldwin, daughter of Joseph Baldwin and Hannah Whitlock, circa 1663 in New Haven County, Connecticut. They reside at Hatfield, Massachusetts and later to Deerfield. On 29 February 1704, an assault by the French & Indians took place at Deerfield. His 2nd wife, Alice, son John & his family along with his daughter Elizabeth were taken & killed on the way to Canada. He went to Westbury to live with his daughter Hannah, wife of John Scott & spent the remainder of his life..1 An unknown person 's wife, Martha, died before 20 December 1680 in New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut, leaving him a widower. John departed this life in Waterbury, New Haven County, Connecticut.

Only child or grandchildren left to him was daughter Hannah, wife of John Scott of Waterbury - he removed there & spent the remainder of his life.
