William Hallett1

M, b. 1616, d. 1705
William was born in 1616 in Dorchestershire, England. It is not known whether or not there was a marriage between William and Elizabeth Ffownes. Her cousin John Winthrop may have performed a ceremony, but again it was not accepted by either the English or the Dutch. Whatever happened, Winthrop was apparently able to prevent Elizabeth from being charged with adultry.. William's wife, Elizabeth, died on 1 February 1673 in the Town of Flushing, Queens County, Long Island, New York, leaving him a widower. He married third Katherine by 1684 and by 1686 he was married to Rebecca, widow of John Byley.2 William departed this life in 1705 in the Town of Flushing, Queens County, Long Island, New York.
