Alexis Hamelin

M, b. 27 June 1710, d. 15 August 1787
     Alexis was born on Friday, 27 June 1710 in Grondines, Portneuf County, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Francois Hamelin and Madeleine Aubert. He was christened there on 29 June 1710 in St-Charles-de-Roches Church.1 Alexis married Marie-Josephte Germain dit Belisle, daughter of Henri Germain dit Belisle and Genevieve-Elisabeth Marcotte, on 21 February 1735 in Deschambault at the church of St-Joseph.2 Alexis & Josephte had children: child [5/27/1736-5/27/1736], Louis-Eustache [6/17/1737], Alexis [1/14/1739-8/13/1783][m. 2/23/1767 Marie-Louise Richard dit Larichardiere], Jean-Baptiste [9/13/1740-10/04/1826][m. 2/11/1765 Marie Madeleine Trottier], Joseh [7/11/1742-11/12/1810][m. 10/14/1776 Marie-Anne Lamy], Marie-Josephte [2/01/1745-8/21/1811][m. 1/18/1768 Francois-Joachim Chavigny de la Chevrotiere ] & Francois-Marie [7/09/1749].3 Alexis's wife, Marie-Josephte, died circa 17 June 1782 in Deschambault, leaving him a widower. Alexis departed this life on Wednesday, 15 August 1787 in ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada, at age 77 years, 1 month and 19 days. He was buried there in the Notre Dame Cemetery on Thursday, 16 August 1787.4
