Antoine Griveault dit Boisjoli

     Antoine was born on Friday, 24 May 1720 in Riviere-des-Prairies, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He was the son of Jean-Baptiste Griveault dit Boisjoli & Marie Sigouin. He was christened there on 25 May 1720 in St-Joseph Church.¹ Antoine married Marie-Agathe Laporte, daughter of Jean-Baptiste Laporte dit St-Georges and Marie-Angelique Lescarbot dit Bosseron, on 3 November 1744 in Lavaltrie, Vercheres County, Quebec, Canada, at St-Antoine Church.² Antoine & Marie Agathe had children: Antoine Toussaint [10/16/1745][m. 10/10/1768 Marie Genevieve Harnois], Marie Agathe [12-04-1747-1/28/1749], Jean Baptiste Capistran [5/13/1749][m. 1/09/1792 Marie Archange Laporte dit St Georges], Louis [3/14/1751-5/03/1751], Joseph Lambert [7/12/1752], Simon Basile [10/28/1753-11/11/1753], Francois Basile [12/15/2754][m. 11/12/1787 Marie Louise Bourdon], Ambroise [7/27/1757-8/29/1757], Basile [7/06/1758-7/15/1758] & Marie Agathe [9/4/1759-1/24/1777].³ Antoine's wife, Marie-Agathe, died on 12 February 1761 in Lavaltrie leaving him a widower. Antoine departed this life on Monday, 14 June 1790 in Lavaltrie, Vercheres County, Quebec, Canada, at age 70 years and 21 days. He was buried there in the churchyard of St-Antoine on Tuesday, 15 June 1790.⁴
