     Alexander was born circa 1170. Alexander's brother, William, purchased the right to arrange the marriage of Eleanor and Matilda Visdelou. He then had Eleanor marry Alexander. Alexander married Eleanor Visdelou, daughter of Humphrey Visdelou and Matilda de Bidun, before 1196.1 Alexander departed this life before 1217.

At that time, William had already married them to his two brothers, for in the same year, Fulk, son of Richard, held one knight's fee [in Rycote] in the honor of Wallingford.
