     Susannah was born in 1773 in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Susannah married Christian Funk circa 1794 in Rockingham County, Virginia. Christian & Susan had children: Susan, Henry [died in infancy], Elizabeth [2/03/1797-3/15 1848][m. Samuel Shank] , Barbara [5/06/1798-10-16-1858][ m. 1816 Christian Brunk], Catharine [1/01/1803-2/ 08/ 1881][m. Daniel Driver]. George [11/05/1804-12/13/1830] Abraham [10/01/1807], Christian [1/16/1812-1/07/1896][m. Frances Brenneman], Mary [6/11/1813-10/24/1872][m. Peter Breneman] & Frances [1816- ][m. 1838 David Blosser].2 26 September 1850, Susannah and her husband, Christian, were listed on the U.S. Federal Census. Enumerated in this household were Christian Funk [78 Pennsylvania], his wife: Susannah [77 Pennsylvania], laborers: Simon Hoover [17 Virginia], and Samuel Veney 40 Virginia.3 Susannah's husband, Christian, died on 22 May 1853 leaving her a widow. Susannah departed this life on Wednesday, 14 December 1859 at age 86 years. She was buried there in Trissel's Church Mennonite Cemetery.

Christian Funk,* born in Pennsylvania, Feb. 9, 1763, died suddenly in Rockingham Co., Va., after singing a hymn, in the summer of 1853. They were married ___. They were Mennonites. Mr. Funk was a farmer, and also manufacturer of the old-fashioned sickle or reap hook, that supplied the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia from early date to the time of his death. They lived north of Harrisonburg, Va., and west of (now) Broadway.
